Wilson, N.C. – In an early season matchup of two undefeated teams in conference play, #41 Erskine College (4-2, 3-0) swept Barton College (6-3, 3-1) 9-0 in women’s tennis action at the Barton Tennis Complex.

Erskine won all the doubles matches surrendering only 5 games in the three matches.

Erskine dominated all six singles matches, winning all in straight sets, except at #3 singles.  Senior Abby O'Reilly (Acworth, GA, Harrison High School) rebounded after losing her first set 6-7 (3-7) to win the last two sets, including a thrilling 12-10 third set tie-breaker, to complete the shutout for Erskine.

Erskine is currently ranked #41 in the recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings and #7 in their recent Southeast Region poll.

Erskine will look to extend their four game win streak tomorrow against conference foe Mount Olive College.  Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
