Due West, SC – The Flying Fleet fell to Pfeiffer University 11-4 Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Conference Carolinas baseball series.

Erskine (10-5, 1-2) took advantage of three Falcon errors in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead.  Pfeiffer (4-12, 1-1) would respond with a run in the second and six in the third to take a 7-3 lead and would never look back.

Drew Willingham (Greenwood, SC, Greenwood HS) led the Fleet at the plate going 2-4 with a double and run scored, while Richard Dix (Clemson, SC, Daniel HS) was 1-3 with an RBI.  Chase Corn (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) and Phillip Herring (Dillon, SC, Dillion HS) each had a hit and run scored.  Zach McAllister (Simpsonville, SC, Hillcrest HS) (1-2) took the loss allowing seven runs on six hits in 2.2 innings of work.

The two teams will conclude their series tomorrow with a double header starting at noon.
