Due West, SC – Erskine completed a sweep of visiting Salem International Saturday afternoon, defeating the Tigers 12-3.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Fleet would take advantage of two errors to score four runs to take the early lead.  Drew Willingham (Greenwood, SC, Greenwood HS) would reach first on an error by the shortstop and later scored on a wild pitch to put Erskine on the board.  Zack Jones (Anderson, SC, USC Sumter) would then hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Brandon Wooten (Taylors, SC, Blue Ridge HS), who had singled earlier in the inning.  In the top of the fourth, Scott Schlapinski would single and then score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Kurth to make it a 4-1 game.  In the bottom half of the inning Chase Corn (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) would single with two outs and score on a double by Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS) to push the lead back to four.  Erskine would blow the game wide open in the fifth inning, scoring seven runs to make the score 12-1. 

Galliher led the Fleet at the plate going 2-4 with a double, home run, and four RBI’s, while Wooten added two hits and two RBI’s.  Corn finished the game 3-6 with an RBI and three runs scored, while Richard Dix and Ross Lisee also added two hits.  Zach McAllister (Simpsonville, SC, Hillcrest HS) (1-1) picked up the win allowing one run onfive hits and striking out three in six innings of work.
