Box Score 2 Due West, S.C. – After losing the first game 2 to 1, Erskine blasted Brevard in the nightcap 6 to 1 to earn a split in non-conference softball action at the Erskine College Softball Complex Saturday afternoon.
After crushing a solo home run to start the second inning, Brevard’s Brittany Jones laced a two-out single to score Ally Davenport for the Tornado second and winning run. Davenport reached on an error to open the fourth inning and had moved up two bases, one on a groundout and another on a pass ball. Brevard threatened again in the sixth inning with runners on second and third, but this time Erskine pitcher

Spurrier tossed her second complete game of the season, surrendering the two runs on just three hits. She did walk four and struck out four.

Bailey Thornton (Pauline, SC, Dorman High School) drew a walk to start the game and promptly stole two bases. Senior
Morgan Purcell (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) hit a deep fly to left to score Thornton.
Despite surrendering the first inning run, Brevard Jamie Hrobak did not allow a hit until the seventh inning when
Ericka McCarson (Travelers Rest, SC, Travelers Rest High School) connected on a double off the wall to lead off the seventh inning. The Fleet failed to score the tying run as Hrobak forced three consecutive ground outs to preserve the 2 to 1 victory.
Hrobak picked up her first win of the season, throwing a complete game one-hitter. She struck out six and walked five.
In the second game, Erskine scored five runs, only one earned, in the first three innings to cruise to the 6 to 1 win. Senior
