Box Score Misenheimer, NC – Erskine spoiled Pfeiffer University’s homecoming with a 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-20) defeat of the Falcons in Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball action at Merner Gym.
The victory keeps the Fleet (5-7, 5-2) within two games of the conference-leading King College.
The Fleet used a balanced attack and a stifling defense to slip past the Falcons. Sophomore
Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School) led the Fleet with 10 kills and 6 digs while senior
Lauren Stewart (Hartwell, GA, Hart County High School) and freshman
Kelly Sullivan (Wellington, FL, Wellington Community High School) both had 9 kills and 2 blocks each.
Defensively, the Fleet forced the Falcons into 19 attack errors while recording 4 team blocks. Seniors
Liz Massey (Greenville, SC, Eastside High School) and
Bailey Thornton (Pauline, SC, Dorman High School) led the Fleet with 8 digs each.
For the Falcons, Kelly Lancelot had a game-high 11 kills and 2 blocks. Cate Glendinning had a game-high 10 digs.
Erskine steps out of conference for their next game to host archrival Anderson University on Tuesday starting at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free to all home Erskine women’s volleyball games.
