Sumter, S.C. – #1 seed Erskine sprinted past #8 seed North Greenville University 5-0 in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Tournament Championships at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

Erskine won all three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the singles competition.  Sophomore Corin Hallman (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School)  and Senior Nikki Miller (Simpsonville, SC, Southside Christian School)quickly won both their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 to give the Flying Fleet the opening round victory.

Erskine advances to the semi-final round to be played today at 4:00 p.m. against #4 Limestone, who edged #5 Coker College 5-4 in the first round.
