Six-Run Third Powers Erskine to 6-3 Win Over Limestone

The Flying Fleet of Erskine put six runs on the board during the 3rd inning and that was all the offense they would need, earning a 6-3 win over the Saints.

Erskine center fielder Morgan Purcell (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) went 1-for-3, with two runs batted in.  Seven different Fleet hitters picked up a hit.  Kelsey Spurrier (Charlotte, NC, Butler High School) allowed three runs over seven innings, while striking out five hitters.  The three runs were scattered through seven hits.

Limestone designated player Dallas Heaton went 1-for-3, and drove two runs in.  First baseman Kirtyn Burelson went 2-for-4, with a run scored.  Shelby Webb was charged with the loss.  Webb went 2.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned).

Erskine is now 1-0, during the tournament, while Limestone falls to 0-1.  Erskine will play at 4 p.m. against the winner of Belmont Abbey versus North Greenville.  Limestone will play the loser of Mt. Olive versus Coker at 4 p.m.
