Box Score Due West, SC – The Crusaders of North Greenville scored six runs on 10 hits to take a 6-3 victory over the Flying Fleet to wrap up the Conference Carolinas baseball series.

In the top of the first, David Frazier would hit a two run double to put North Greenville up 2-0.  The Crusaders would add another run in the third to increase their lead to three.  In the bottom of the third, Cameron Yost (Simpsonville, SC, Hillcrest HS) led off the inning and then advanced to third on a single by Cody Spence (Belton, SC, Belton-Honea Path HS).  Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS) would then reach on a fielder’s choice to score Yost and put the Fleet on the board.  Drew Willingham (Greenwood, SC, Greenwood HS) would then hit his second home run of the series to tie the game at three.  The game would not stay tied long as the Crusaders would score a run in the top of the fourth to regain the lead.  They would add two more runs and hold off a late Erskine rally to take the victory.

Willingham led the Erskine offense, going 2-4 with two RBI’s, while Galliher was 1-4 with a run driven in.  John Sever (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) took the loss allowing three runs on one hit in 2.2 innings of work.

Erskine returns to action tomorrow as they travel to Greenwood to play local rival Lander University at 5:00 pm.
