Dahlonega, GA – Erskine won their ninth match in a row by defeating North Georgia today 7-2 in non-conference women’s tennis action at the North Georgia Tennis Complex. Erskine improves to 11-2 on the season while North Georgia slips to 5-6.
Erskine found themselves in an unusual position trailing 2-1 after doubles play. NGU’s #1 doubles pair Natalia Escobar and Juliana Chang edged Erskine’s
Tessa Rheault (Levis, Quebec, Canada, Ecole Pointe Levy) and
Mika Goyette (Brossard, Quebec, Ecole Secondaire De Mortagne) 9-8 (7-1). NGU won another close match at #3 doubles with Nela Handac and Maria Romeo slipping by Fleet’s
Abby O'Reilly (Acworth, GA, Harrison High School) and
Nikki Miller (Simpsonville, SC, Southside Christian School) 8-6.
Erskine roared back in singles action winning at six matches in straight sets to take the match in convincing fashion 7-2.
Erskine travels down the road on Wednesday to face local rival Lander University. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m.
