Due West, SC – The Erskine Women’s Tennis breezed past short-handed Lees-McRae College today 9-0 in Conference Carolinas women’s tennis action at the Erskine College Tennis Complex. Erskine climbs to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in conference and still has not surrendered a point yet in conference play. Lees-McRae remains winless at 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference.
Erskine won all three doubles matches with #1 doubles being the best match of the day. Senior
Tessa Rheault (Levis, Quebec, Canada, Ecole Pointe Levy) and freshman
Mika Goyette (Brossard, Quebec, Ecole Secondaire De Mortagne)outlasted Lyndsay Peagram and Samantha Wohlers 9-8, winning the tie-breaker 13-11.
Corin Hallman (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) and
Victoria Stephens (Cumming, GA, South Forsyth High School) combined to shutout Kelsey Hiatt and Raven Harris 8-0 at #2 doubles. With only four active players, Lees-McRae had to forfeit #3 doubles as well as #5 and #6 singles.
Erskine quickly picked up the four remaining singles points winning all the matches easily in straight sets.
Erskine concludes their six-match home stand on Monday against archrival Anderson University. Anderson enters the match at 5-3 on the season. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
