Box Score 2 Due West, SC – The Flying Fleet swept a non conference double header from the Tigers of Stillman College Friday afternoon, winning game one 14-4 and game two 7-6.
Game 1
Erskine (3-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a two run home run from
Drew Willingham (Greenwood, SC, Greenwood HS) and a solo shot by
Will Huff (Sugar Hill, GA, North Gwinette HS). Stillman (0-3) would answer in the top of the second with two unearned runs to cut the lead to one. With two outs and no one on in the bottom half of the inning,
Cord Love (Columbia, SC, Irmo HS) would hit a two out double and
Chase Corn (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) would draw a walk. Logan Galliher would then single to left scoring both runners and making it a 5-2 game. The Tigers would add two more runs in the third to get to within one run again. Erskine would blow the game wide open in the bottom of the fourth with eight runs to make it a 13-4 game. Corn would blast his second home run of the season in the eighth to give Erskine their 14
th run of the game.
Corn led the Fleet at the plate going 3-4 with a home run and three RBI’s, while Huff Finished the game 2-4 with a double, home run and four runs driven in.
Evan Howard (Thomson, GA, Paine College) (1-0) picked up the win in relief allowing just three hits in two and two-thirds innings of work and striking out one.

Game 2
After a lot of offense in game one, game two started out as a pitcher’s duel, with neither team scoring for the first three innings. After the Tigers scored two runs in the two of the fourth, Huff would blast his second home run of the day driving in Willingham to tie the game up. Stillman would answer with three runs in the top of the fifth to regain the lead. With the Fleet trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning,
Zac McCarthy (Lyman, SC, Byrnes HS) would blast a two run home run to tie the game up. After a scoreless seventh inning, Erskine would come to bat in the bottom of the eighth with a chance to win the game.
Richard Dix (Clemson, SC, Daniel HS)would lead off with a double.
Brad Enlow (Graniteville, SC, Midland Valley HS) came into the game to run for Danielewicz and was sacrificed over to third. McCarthy would step to the plate once again and hit a walk off single to left field to win the game for the Fleet.
McCarthy was the lone Erskine hitter with two hits, while Huff was 1-4 with a home run and two RBI’s.
Kit Carter (Duncan, SC, Byrnes HS) (1-0) picked up the win allowing just two hits and striking out one in two and two-thirds innings of work.
