Box Score Laurinburg, NC – The Erskine Flying Fleet drilled St. Andrews University 79 to 57 in route to their five consecutive win today in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball action at Harris Court. With the win, Erskine evens their overall record at 9-9 and improves to 6-4 in conference. The Knights of St. Andrews University remain winless on the season at 0-16 and 0-9 in conference.
Erskine’s
Porsha Morgan (Columbus, GA, LaGrange Academy) led all scorers with 26 points while handing out 7 assists. Senior
Elizabeth Tatum (Glennville, GA, Pinewood Christian Academy) added 17 points and 6 rebounds while
Jana Dixon (Conyers, GA, Heritage High School) continued to dominate the boards with a game-high 10 rebounds.
For the Knights, Kimayah Fulcher scored a team-high 15 points and 9 rebounds. Benee Norton contributed 14 points and Brittany Roberts had 13 points and 6 rebounds.
After Fulcher made two free throws to tie the game at 14 each with 13 minutes remaining, Erskine’s
Rosa Powell (Lilburn, GA, Brookwood High School) gave the Fleet the lead they would never relinquish with a 3-point basket. The Knights kept the game close until the latter minutes of the half. At that point, the Fleet used a 15-2 run to stretch their lead into double-digits. The Fleet forced four Knight turnovers and freshman
Andrienne Bannerman (Watha, NC, Pender High School)scored six of her eight points on three jump shots. Erskine led at the half 42 to 26.
St. Andrews never threatened in the second half as the Fleet stretched their lead to over twenty points. All thirteen Erskine players participated in the game with nine players scoring a basket. Erskine won 79 to 57.
Erskine puts their 5-game win streak on the line next Thursday when the Fleet travels to Gaffney, South Carolina, to play conference leading Limestone College (16-5, 10-1). Game is set for 5:30 p.m.
