Augusta, GA – Erskine defeated Augusta State 9-5 Tuesday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium in non conference baseball action.

In the top of the first, John Bolding (Pickens, SC, Pickens HS) would load the bases with a bunt single and Drew Willingham (Hodges, SC, Greenwood HS) would put the Fleet up 1-0 when he grounded into a double play.  Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS) would then score on a wild pitch to push the Erskine lead to 2-0.  The Jaguars would then score a run in the bottom of the first and two unearned runs in the second to take a 3-2 lead..

In the top of the fourth, Willingham would lead off with a single and then score onChase Corn's (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) double down the right field line to tie the game at two.  Corn would then score on Will Huff's (Sugar Hill, GA, North Gwinnett HS) single to center field to put Erskine up 4-3.  The Fleet would add three more runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to take the 9-5 victory.

Bolding led the Fleet at the plate going 3-4, while Huff was 2-4 with two RBI’s.  Casey Winckowski (Oregon, OH, Owens CC) had a home run and drove in three runs in the victory. Carlton Watts (Laurens, SC, Spartanburg Methodist) (4-0) picked up the win allowing two earned run on seven hits and striking out five in five innings of work.
