Misenheimer, NC – The Pfeiffer Falcons swept a Conference Carolinas double header from the Flying Fleet Saturday, winning game one 5-2 and game two 7-2.

In game one, the Falcons would erupt for four runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead.  A solo home run by John Bolding (Pickens, SC, Pickens HS) in the fourth would cut the lead to 4-1, but it would not be enough as the Falcons would take the win to tie the series a one game each.

Bolding led the Fleet at the plate going 2-4 with two solo home runs, while Drew Willingham (Hodges, SC, Greenwood HS), Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS), and Phillip Herring (Dillion, SC, Dillion HS) each had one hit.  Heath Gray (Byrnes, SC, Byrnes HS) (1-1) took the loss allowing four runson four hits in one-third of an inning.  Andrew Guest (Easley, SC, Easley High School) came in relief and kept the Fleet in the game allowing just one run on six hits and striking out six in 7.2innings of work.

In game two the Fleet would strike in the top of the first to take an early lead.  Luke Danielewicz (Spartanburg, SC, Dorman High School) and Brian Laznik (Chardon, OH, Lakeland CC) would lead off the inning with singles and then advance into scoring position on a wild pitch.  Willingham would then single up the middle to score both runners and give Erskine a 2-0 lead.  The Pfeiffer offense would then score three runs in the second and four in the third inning to take a commanding 7-2 lead hold on for the victory.

Laznik was the lone Erskine player with two hits, going 2-3 with a run scored, while Willingham was 1-3 with two runs driven in.  Chase Corn (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) (1-1) took the loss allowing five runs on three hits in two and a thirds innings pitched.
