Erskine Women's Tennis cruises past Limestone 8-1

Due West, SC – The Erskine women’s tennis team cruised past the Saints of Limestone College today in Conference Carolinas women’s tennis action at the Erskine College Tennis Complex.  Erskine climbs to 7-1 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 6-0.  Limestone remains winless on the season at 0-10 overall and 0-2 in conference.

Erskine got off to a quick start sweeping the three doubles matches.  Tessa Rheault (Levis, Quebec, Canada, Ecole Pointe Levy) and Britton Bignon (Athens, GA, Oconee County High School) teamed up to win at the #1 doubles slot 8-5.  Abby O'Reilly (Acworth, GA, Harrison High School) and Nikki Miller (Simpsonville, SC, Southside Christian School) quickly dispatched Krystal Barker and Nicole Jones 8-0 at #2 doubles.  Limestone only had five healthy players and had to default at the #3 doubles and #6 singles positions.

In singles matches, Bignon, O’Reilly and Victoria Stephens (Cumming, GA, South Forsyth High School) shutout their opponents in straight sets to secure the match for the Fleet.  Corin Hallman (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) defeated Eve Mabry in straight sets 7-6 (7-5) and 6-1.  Limestone scored their lone point at the #1 singles spot as Jimena Munoz Quiroga beat Tessa Rheault 0-6, 6-3, and 1-0 (10-5).

Erskine returns to action Saturday afternoon against Pfeiffer University at 1:00 p.m.
