Anderson, SC – The Erskine offense exploded for 22 runs Thursday night at Memorial Stadium to take a 22-12 victory over Anderson University in non conference baseball action.

In the bottom of the first, the Trojans took advantage of two Fleet errors to take a 2-0 lead.  Erskine would answer with six runs in the top of the second with the key hit being a two run double by Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS).  Erskine would add another nine runs in the third inning to go up 15-2 and they would not look as they coasted to the victory.

Casey Winckowski (Oregon, OH, Owens CC) led the Fleet attack going 4-7 with a triple, four runs scored and four RBI’s, while Will Huff (Sugar Hill, GA, North Gwinnett HS) was 4-6 with four doubles and three runs driven in.  Brian Laznik (Chardon, OH, Lakeland CC) was 3-5 with two doubles and three RBI’s and Drew Willingham (Hodges, SC, Greenwood HS) finished the game 3-6 with a double and RBI.  Tyler Jones (MCormick, SC, MCormick HS) picked up his first win of the season allowing one run on three hits in two-thirds of an inning of relief.

With the win, Erskine improves to 16-5 and will host Barton tomorrow at 2:30 pm in the opening game of their Conference Carolinas series.
