Wilson, NC – The Erskine women’s tennis team easily defeated Barton College 9-0 on Friday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women’s tennis play at the Barton Tennis Complex.  Erskine improves to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in conference while Barton drops to 1-3 overall and 0-1 conference.

Erskine swept the three doubles matches in convincing fashion.  Tessa Rheault and Britton Bignon won at first doubles 8-3 while Corin Hallman and Victoria Stephens had little difficulty, winning 8-1.  Abby O’Reilly and Katie Sailors took the #3 doubles 8-4.

In the singles competition, Corin Hallman went three sets to win her match against Mika Deane 6-1, 2-6, 10-7.  The rest of the Fleet took won their singles matches in straight sets.   Freshman Katie Sailors closed out her set first winning 6-1, 6-0.  Abby O’Reilly also finished quickly winning her two sets 6-1.  Britton Bignon defeated Lindsey Frederick 6-1 and 6-4 and April Horne won 6-3 and 6-2.

The Fleet continue their weekend road trip and play Mt. Olive College tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
