Due West, SC – The Erskine Volleyball rolled past Pfeiffer University today winning the game 25-14, 25-14, 26-28, and 25-20. The Fleet easily won the first two sets before dropping a very close third set. The fourth set swung back and forth until the Fleet took a seven point lead midway through the set. The Fleet won the set 25-10 to clinch the victory. With the win, the Fleet are now 8-4 overall and 6-0 in Conference Carolinas. Meanwhile, Pfeiffer University falls to 0-10 overall and 0-4 in conference.
Junior Jamie Murray (Hermann, MO/Hermann H.S.) continued her stellar all-around play with a team-high 15 kills, 6 digs and 4 blocks. Sophomore setter Larz Chabra (Mt. Pleasant, SC/Wando H.S.) earned a “double-double” with 44 assists and 14 digs. She also chipped in 3 kills and 2 blocks. Senior middle hitter Alison Albers (Goodhue, MN/Goodhue H.S.) just missed a “double-double” with her 12 kills and 8 blocks. Junior Sandra Campbell also contributed 15 kills while sophomore libero Brooke Dodge (Duncan, SC/Byrnes H.S.) led the back defense with 17 digs.
Pfeiffer’s Kristina Mordini had a game-high 16 kills while teammate Colleen Wands also had a “double-double” from her setter position with 37 assists and 11 digs. Pfeiffer libero Kaci Markham also had a game-high 22 digs for the Falcons.
The Fleet host Lees-McRae College this Wednesday at 7 p.m. Both teams enter Wednesday’s contest undefeated in conference play.
