Hartsville, S.C. - Coker took both games of a Conference Carolinas double header over Erskine College Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Cobras won game one 3-2 and game two 10-2. The wins improve Coker to 16-17 overall, and 8-10 in the conference, while Erskine falls to 18-16 overall, and 5-5 in the conference.
Game One
Haleigh Rogers hit a two run pinch hit double in the bottom of the fourth inning to put Coker up 3-2 and eventually lead to the win. The Lady Cobras got off to a shaky start as starter Sydney Greenwalt gave up two runs in the first inning on a two run double by Katee Knapp (Branford, FL, Branford High School) that scored Kelly Davis (Weaverville, NC, North Buncombe High) and Kayla Vinson (Berea, SC, Berea High School), but then settled into a grove and shut down the Flying Fleet.
Greenwalt (4-4) earned the win scattering six hits, allowing two runs in 5.1 innings with nine strikeouts, while Shelly Catlett (1) earned her first save of the year, going 1.2 innings, allowing no runs and no hits with four strikeouts.
Erskine's Lauren Gunter (Batesburg, SC, Batesburg-Leesville High School) (9-7) took the loss, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings of work with five strikeouts.
