Senior Katee Knapp Had Three Home Runs in Two Games

Franklin Springs, GA---The Erskine College softball team pounded out a double header sweep of Emmanuel College Monday afternoon, winning game one 10-0 and game two 11-7.

Senior Katee Knapp led the Fleet on offense, going 4-5 with a double, two home runs and five RBIs, while Lindsey LaPrad was 3-3 with an RBI. Hailey Whitlock was 2-3 with a run scored and Kelly Davis also had a double and RBI. Lauren Gunter picked up the win with a complete game shut out, allowing just two hits and striking out six.

The Fleet had their work cut out for them in game two, falling behind 3-0 after two innings, but Erskine would take advantage of three errors by Emmanuel in the third to take a 5-3 lead. The big blow for the Fleet in the inning was a two run double form Knapp. Erskine added four more runs in the fourth capped off by a three run home run from Knapp to take a 9-3 lead and cruise to the victory.

Knapp once again led the Fleet at the plate going 2-3 with a double, home run, and five RBIs, while LaPrad was 2-3 with two RBIs. Amber Hartley finished the game 2-2 with two runs scored, while Rebekah George and Whitlock added singles in the win. George picked up the win pitching five innings of relief allowing three earned runs and striking out 10.

The Fleet improve to 7-4 on the season with the sweep.
