Columbia, SC---#13th ranked Erskine College pounded out a 19-2 victory over Benedict College Monday afternoon in the team’s last game before the Conference Carolinas tournament that begins Thursday morning.

Erskine was led at the plate by Chas Anthony who was 5-6 with three runs batted in, while Tyler Layton was 4-4 with four RBIs and Bryan Fogle was 4-4 with four runs scored. Brandon Garrett was 4-5 with a double, triple, and run driven in and Dereck King was 2-4 with his first career home run. Alex Gilstrap picked up the win allowing just two runs in seven innings of work and striking out a career high seven batters.

Erskine improves to 38-6 on the season and will travel to Wilson, NC for the Conference Carolinas tournament where they will open up with 7th seeded Pfeiffer at 10:00 am Thursday.
