Rebekah George No Hits Pfeiffer Wednesday

George Tosses No Hitter as Fleet Sweep Pfeiffer!!

Meisenheimer, NC---Erskine’s Rebekah George threw a complete game no hitter in the second game of a double header with Pfeiffer to help the Fleet complete a Conference Carolinas sweep.

Erskine’s bats came out on fire in the first game pounding out 11 hits to take a 13-1 victory. The Fleet were led at the plate by Katee Knapp who was 2-3 with a grand slam, while Lindsey LaPrad was 2-3 with her first career home run and three RBIs. Courtney Davis added three hits, including a double and Kelly Davis was 2-3 with a double. Lauren Gunter picked up the win allowing one unearned run in five innings.

After an offensive explosion in the first game, game two turned into a pitchers duel. Neither team could muster any runs in the first five innings, although the Fleet missed scoring opportunities in the second and fourth innings. In the top of the sixth, Knapp connected with her second home run of the day to give Erskine a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Rebekah George continued her dominance in the final two innings to complete her first career no hitter and second straight shut out. George struck out six and allowed just two runners to reach first in seven innings to run her scoreless innings streak to 13.

With the win, Erskine improves to 17-14-1 overall and remain perfect in the conference at 8-0.
