Due West, SC---The Erskine College softball team swept a Conference Carolinas double header from Queens University Friday afternoon, winning game one 5-1 and game two 8-0 to improve to 13-14-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.


Courtney Davis led the Fleet offense in game one going 2-3 with a double, home run and three runs batted in, while Ashlee LaFontaine was also 2-2 with a double and two RBIs. Kelly Davis, Katee Knapp and Kayla Vinson also added a hit each in the victory. Lauren Gunter picked up the win allowing just one run in seven innings and striking out six.

The Fleet kept swinging hot bats in game two scoring eight runs in five innings to complete the series sweep. The middle of the line up was a perfect 9-9 for the game. Knapp finished the game 4-4 with two doubles and an RBI, LaFontaine was 3-3 with a double and four runs driven in and Davis was 2-2 with a double and RBI. Lindsey LaPrad also added a single for the Fleet. Rebekah George picked up the win pitching a complete game shut out and striking out two.
