Wilson, NC---11th ranked Erskine took two games out of three from Barton College in Conference Carolinas action over the weekend to improve to 27-3 overall and 12-3 in the conference.
The Fleet lost game one 4-3 and were held to just seven hits. Atlee Pearson led the Fleet attack, going 1-2 with his first career home run and driving in all three Erskine runs. Bryan Fogle was 2-5 while Matt Schneider added a double. Andrew Guest was the tough luck loser allowing three earned runs in 6 2/3 innings of work and striking out five.
The Fleet rebounded in game two scoring 10 runs on nine hits to take a 10-4 victory. Chas Anthony led the Fleet going 3-4 with his 10th home run of the season and three RBIs, while Fogle was 2-4 with a home run and two runs batted in. Brandon Garrett also added his first career home run in the victory. William Buzhardt picked up the win allowing two earned runs in five innings and striking out three.
Erskine continued swinging hot bats in the final game, hitting six home runs and five doubles to take a 14-7 victory. Keith Hill led the attack with a career high six hit game, including a home run, two doubles and two RBIs. Schneider finished the game 3-4 with two doubles, a home run and four runs batted in, while Greg Huff was 2-4 with two home runs and four RBIs. John Bolding and Matt Wurzer also added home runs for the Fleet in the victory. Pearson picked up the win allowing one run in 3 1/3 innings of relief and striking out two.
