Due West, SC---#11th ranked Erskine pounded out 25 hits including nine for extra bases and scored 18 runs to take an 18-7 victory over Wingate Tuesday afternoon in non conference baseball action.
The Fleet jumped out early with five runs in the bottom of the first and added three in the second inning and would not look back. Eight different Erskine players had multiple hits, led by Ross Hanna who was 5-6 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Matt Schneider finished the game 4-5 with a home run and four runs batted in, while John Bolding was 4-6 with a double and RBI. Alex O’Quinn picked up his third win of the season allowing six earned runs in five and two thirds innings of work and striking out two.
Wingate was led at the plate by Aaron Knowles who was 3-4 with a double, home run, and four RBIs and Heath Weatherford who was 4-5 with a home run and run batted in. Spencer Robinson finished the game 3-5 with a double and two runs scored for the Bulldogs. Cale Rogers took the loss for Wingate allowing five earned runs in two innings of work.
With the win, Erskine improves to 23-0, while Wingate falls to 12-17 on the season.
