Fleet Sweep Southern Wesleyan in Softball

Central, SC---The Erskine softball team continued its hot play Friday night, defeating Southern Wesleyan 5-2 and 4-3 despite still missing several players with the flu.

In game one, Erskine was led at the plate by Katee Knapp who was 3-3 with a triple and a stolen base.  Cortney Davis hit hir first home run of the season and scored two runs,  while Rebekah George added and double and Kayla Vinson had a single.  Lauren Gunter picked up the win for the Fleet pitcinhg six innings and Amanda Norton got the save pithing the final inning.

In game two, the Fleet were led on offense by Kerry Fincher who was 2-3 with a run scored and stolen base, while Lindsey LaPrad was 1-3 with an RBI triple and Davis added an RBI single.   Norton picked up the win in game two pitching five innings and Gunter came in to pitch the final two innings to get the save.

The Fleet improve to 4-2 on the season and will host Mars Hill Saturday at 1:00 pm.
