Tigerville, SC---Erskine took advantage of several North Greenville errors to complete a three game sweep Saturday afternoon in non conference baseball action.
In game one, the Fleet would take a 4-0 lead into the ninth on an outstanding pitching performance from Andrew Guest, but the Crusaders would score two runs in the ninth on two Erskine errors, but Huitt Scarborough was able to close the door on the North Greenville rally to give the Fleet the 4-2 victory.
Erskine was led at the plate by Greg Huff, Chas Anthony, and John Bolding who were each 3-4 on the day, while Keith Hill was 2-5 with a triple. Gues picked up the win allowing no earned runs in 8.2 innings of work and striking out six.
In game two, Erskine trailed 1-0 going into the third inning but the Fleet would score three runs in the third capped off by a single from Ross Hanna that drove in two. Erskine would add three more runs in the fifth on a two RBI double from Hill and the Fleet would hold on for the 6-3 victory. Mike Moore picked up the win allowing three earned runs in five innings, while Atlee Pearson picked up his first career save pitching the final two innings with out allowing a hit.
