Tyler Wheeler

Tyler Wheeler is joining the Flying Fleet for his first year as an assistant coach. He will be specializing with the catchers and will also assist with hitters. Before joining the Flying Fleet Wheeler coached two years at Infinite Vision Sports Academy where he sent 90% of players on to play college baseball. Some notable programs where he helped move players on were Georgia State, Young Harris, North Georgia, and North West Florida.

Wheeler attended Old Dominion University in the Sun Belt Conference for his last year of playing career where he caught for the Monarchs. Before transferring to ODU he played for Olivet Nazarene University where he helped the Tigers win back to back CCAC regular season and tournament championships for the first and second time in school history. In his 2021 season he was named second team all conference catcher and in his 2022 season he was named first team all conference catcher.

Before playing for the Tigers, Wheeler played junior college baseball for Tacoma Community College where he played in the Northwest Athletic Conference for two years where they went 41-10 during his freshman year. In this season the Trojans made it to the semi-finals in the tournament during the 2018-2019 season.

Wheeler graduated with a Bachelors in Health and Physical Education from Old Dominion University in 2023.

Tyler Wheeler is married to Payton Wheeler where they reside in Anderson, SC.
