MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Erskine College men's soccer team (0-4-1, 0-3-0 CC) was defeated by Chowan University (1-2-2, 1-1-0 CC) by a score of 6-2 at the Chowan Soccer/Lacrosse Complex on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Taking on another premier opponent in Conference Carolinas this week, the Fleet came flying out of the gates on the road.
Peyton Williams converted from the penalty spot just 73 seconds into the match for his second goal of the season, and then
Marcos Martinez Loureiro slotted home a
Zach Hart assist in the 9th minute to give Erskine a stunning 2-0 lead less than ten minutes into the match. However, Chowan responded instantly, scoring two goals of its own in the next two minutes of the match to draw things level. The Hawks continued their pressure and took their first lead with a 27th-minute strike. That 3-2 scoreline remained through halftime, but the hosts added three more goals in the second half to pull away late from the Fleet.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Chowan 32 to 14, and the Hawks had 16 to 6 advantage in shots on target. Both teams were awarded seven corners and Chowan was whistled for 19 fouls to Erskine's 12.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet return home to take on Southern Wesleyan University (2-3-1, 0-1-1 CC) on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
