HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Southern Wesleyan 6-1 Erskine
Taking on Southern Wesleyan for the third consecutive game, pitching controlled the contest through the first four innings, with
Erin Redmond matching zeroes with the SWU starter. But, in the fifth inning, a two-out home run from the Warriors opened the scoring. The Fleet, though, answered back in the next-half inning, courtesy of an error to begin the frame, before
Kennedy Crouch's RBI double scored
Ava Rogers to tie the game. However, SWU plated five runs in the bottom half of the sixth and that proved to be the difference.
Game 2: Southern Wesleyan 10-2 Erskine (Final / 6 innings)
The Warriors continued on the momentum from the end of the first game and used a four-run fourth to put the Fleet in an 8-0 deficit.
Hannah Lewis' two-run single in the fifth got the Fleet on the board, but the hosts answered with two runs of their own in the sixth to end the game via run rule.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine starts the weekend with a home doubleheader against Emmanuel University (4-36, 4-18 CC) on Friday at 2 p.m. The Fleet won both games against the Lions in Franklin Springs last month.
