DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (0-21, 0-16 CC) was defeated by Converse University (8-13, 6-10 CC) by a score of 76-70 at Belk Arena on Saturday.
Ruben Salazar led the Fleet with a game-high 23 points and Erskine led for most of the first half, as well as using a late push to regain its lead with 1:52 to go on a bucket from
Noah Castaneda. However, Converse answered with 10 of the game's final 13 points to escape the Fleet.

Erskine shot a remarkable 59% (27-46) from the field and 41% (9-22) from three-point territory. The Fleet held their own on the backboard, with Converse edging Erskine in rebounds 26 to 25, but the Fleet were called for 20 fouls, giving the Valkyries a five-point advantage from the free throw line.
