FERRUM, Va. – The Erskine College women's volleyball team (2-15, 1-8 CC) defeated Ferrum College (5-9, 2-8 CC) in four sets at Swartz Gymnasium on Thursday evening.
A balanced offensive attack led by
Becca Yohe (13 kills),
Alexis Waddy (13 kills), and
Ella Dietrich (12 kills) helped the Fleet earn their first Conference Carolinas win of the season. After cruising the first two sets, Erskine was slowed in set three and pushed to the brink in set four. However, trailing 23-22, Yohe tallied a pair of kills as part of a three-point scoring run by the Fleet to end the match in convincing fashion.

Ella Dietrich led the Fleet's offensive showing with 12 kills on a remarkable .435 hitting percentage. The Florida native also added in an ace, two assists, and was involved in all three of Erskine's blocks, filling up the stat sheet in the win.
THE TEAM
Erskine hit a season-best .235 (48 K / 16 E / 136 A) for the match, including a scintillating .471 in the second set. The Fleet held Ferrum to just a .154 hitting percentage and totaled seven aces in the victory.
