HOW IT HAPPENED
Young Harris opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but the Fleet contained the high-powered Mountain Lions throughout the remainder of the first half and generated attacking chances themselves with
Evan Williams tallying a shot on target in the 22nd minute and
Connor Blake recording a shot as well later in the half. That 1-0 scoreline remained well into the second half, despite more opportunities for the Fleet to draw level. However, YHC scored the game's next goal, as a 67th-minute strike doubled their lead. Erskine contained the Mountain Lions through the final 23 minutes, limiting them to just one shot on goal, but the Fleet could not break down a stout Young Harris defense.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Young Harris 23 to 7, but YHC had just an eight to three advantage in shots on target. The Fleet were called for 12 fouls to YHC's 15 and each team had one player issued a yellow card in the match.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine returns home for a busy and crucial final month of the regular season, starting with a home game against Barton College (2-6-1, 1-4-1 CC) on Friday at 4 p.m.
