DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (1-12, 0-7 CC) was defeated by UNC Pembroke (5-10, 5-3 CC) by a score of 69-67 at Belk Arena on Saturday.
The Fleet trailed by as many as 14 at one stage in the third quarter but fought back to set up a thrilling final minute. Erskine drew level a couple of times late in the fourth quarter but were unable to complete the comeback.

Erskine shot 41% (24-59) from the field and 27% (4-15) from the three-point line as well as 71% (15-21) from the free throw line. The Fleet had a 16 to 9 advantage in fast break points and surrendered just 15 turnovers, but UNCP doubled the Fleet in offensive rebounds, which proved to be the difference in a one-score game.
