DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball developmental Team B won a pair of games in the opening round of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Developmental Championship on Monday at Belk Arena, as the Fleet advanced to next Monday's semifinals.

Erskine Team B opened the day with a commanding 77-42 win over Francis Marion, and then ran away from Converse, 79-50, in the final game of the day.

Redshirt sophomore Malik Shepherd led the way in Game 1, with a game-high 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Then, freshman Rob Spaulding IV poured in a game-high 19 points on an efficient 7-for-8 shooting from the field, including making all three of his three-point attempts to lead the Fleet past Converse in Game 2.

WHAT'S NEXT? 
The reigning champions of the event, Erskine heads back to the semifinals of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Developmental Championship next Monday, February 10. The semifinals and finals will be hosted by Belmont Abbey College, and the Fleet take on Barton at 2 p.m.

That will be a rematch of last season's championship game, which was a double-overtime thriller won by the Fleet, 93-85. If Erskine wins, they will take on the winner of the Lees-McRae/Southern Wesleyan semifinal for the championship at 4 p.m.
