ANDERSON, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (0-2) was defeated by Newberry College (2-0) by a score of 97-84 at the Abney Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon as part of the South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas Crossover Challenge.

Erskine shot 49% (29-59) from the field and 42% (17-41) from the three-point line, as well as 82% (9-11) from the free throw line. The Fleet got 38 points from their bench and had a decided 17 to 4 advantage in fast break points but outrebounded 37 to 25.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine goes back on the road on Tuesday at Paine College (2-2) at 7 p.m. in what will be just the second ever meeting between the teams and the first in Augusta.
