JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Erskine College men's volleyball team (1-1) split a pair of matches on the road in the state of Florida to begin their 2025 campaign over the weekend. The Fleet lost a five-setter at Barry University (1-0) on Thursday evening, but took care of Edward Waters University (0-1) in straight sets on Saturday for Jason Sall's first win as a head coach.

THE TEAM
Erskine hit .322 (70 K / 21 E / 152 TA) for the match and held Barry to just a .128 hitting percentage. But, the serving department cost the Fleet, who totaled just 2 aces and had 27 service errors, while Barry notched 5 aces and had just 11 service errors.

THE TEAM
Erskine hit .360 (38 K / 11 E / 75 TA) for the match and held the Tigers to just a .156 hitting percentage. The Fleet also had a decided 8 to 2 advantage in blocks and 8 to 3 advantage in aces as they cruised to their first win of the young season.

THE PLAYER
Sophomore middle blocker True Bauer began his season on a high, averaging 4 kills per set over the two matches, including a career-high 24 kills on a .362 hitting percentage in the season opener at Barry. Bauer followed that up with 8 kills and hit .357 against Edward Waters, while also adding in 3 blocks and a pair of aces.

WHAT'S NEXT? 
Erskine has its home opener this week when the Fleet host Tusculum University (0-3) on Friday at 6 p.m.
