DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College Cross Country and Track & Field programs named Jeremy Heinold as the next Cross Country head coach and the Director of Track & Field, Director of Athletics Mark Peeler announced on Friday.Â
"I am very pleased and grateful to have Jeremy accept this position at Erskine. He is knowledgeable with a proven record of successful experience. But even more importantly he is the type of Christian leader we want being a role model to our student-athletes," Peeler said. "I feel like we are blessed to have Jeremy take this challenge on. I feel like our cross country and track programs are in good hands moving forward."
Heinold joins the Fleet from Brashier Middle College where he spent the last two years as the head coach of the Cross Country program, guiding the boys and girls teams to state titles in 2023.
"I am very excited to be the head cross country and track and field coach here at Erskine," Heinold said. "Running is a journey. Enjoy the process and compete with passion."
Prior to Brashier, Heinold was the head distance track coach at Woodmont High School and has over 15 years of experience leading high school cross country and track & field programs. A University of Evansville alum, Heinold competed at the highest level of collegiate cross country.
The Fleet begin their 2024 cross country campaign in a few weeks, as the men and women travel to Appalachian State University to compete in the Firetower Project on September 13.
