HOW IT HAPPENED
UNC Pembroke scored in each of its three innings at the plate to take an early 8-0 lead. Erskine got on the board in the bottom of the third on an RBI double from
Carlos Gonzalez, but scoring chances were few and far between for the Fleet on the night.
Christian Rivera added an RBI single in the eigth and
Daniel Hernandez hit a home run in the ninth, but the early deficit proved to be too much for Erskine against a potent UNCP offense.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine has a quick turnaround in a tough elimination game against No. 2 seed Young Harris College (39-12, 22-8 CC) on Saturday at noon at CaroMont Health Park. If the Fleet win, they will turn around and play another elimination game later that evening.
