HOW IT HAPPENED
Vying for a spot in the weekend's double-elimination tournament, Erskine took on Emmanuel, and after a scoreless first inning, the Lions took an early lead with a two-run second. Erskine responded in the fourth inning, as
Maddie Ingram was hit by a pitch and
Peyton Rabon followed with a single, setting the stage for
McKinna Taylor. And the sophomore delivered with a two-run double in the left center field gap to tie the game at two apiece. However, Emmanuel regained its lead with a pair of runs of its own in the bottom half and pulled away down the stretch as the Fleet were eliminated from the 2024 Conference Carolinas Tournament on Thursday.
WHAT'S NEXT?
With the loss, Erskine's 2024 campaign comes to a close as the Fleet will now head into the off-season and begin preparations for the 2025 season.
