HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Young Harris 6-5 Erskine
Back home for the first time in nearly a month, Erskine and Young Harris each had scoreless first innings at the plate. Then, a see-saw affair and a home run battle ensued. The visitors hit a solo shot in the second inning to open the scoring and added another in the next frame, but Peyton Rabon launched her fourth big fly of the season in the bottom half to cut the deficit to 2-1. Starting pitcher Kaylee Odum followed with zeroes in each of her next two innings in the circle, and Erskine took advantage of that momentum. Following a one-out single, Kenzie Eagleman and Kyndall Chandler each worked walks to load the bases for Gabby Burroughs, who delivered once again, crushing a grand slam over the left center field fence and firing the Fleet in front, 5-2. However, the Mountain Lions answered back with three runs in the sixth and scored what would end up being the game-winning run in the seventh, as the Fleet were unable to hang on in Game 1.

Game 2: Young Harris 8-2 Erskine
Young Harris used that momentum from the end of the first game, and took an early 1-0 lead after a half inning in Game 2. But, Gabby Burroughs was at it again, this time with a two-run home run in the bottom half of the first, handing Erskine a 2-1 lead after an entertaining opening frame. YHC scored twice in the third to regain the lead and used a four-run fifth to pull away, as Erskine came up short in Game 2.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine goes right back on the road, taking on King University (20-18, 7-5 CC) on Friday with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
