HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Southern Wesleyan 13-5 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
On the road for the first time in league play in 2024, the Fleet fell into an early 2-0 hole after the first inning. However, Maddie Ingram struck back in the second inning, launching a two-run home run to tie the game. But, game 1 continued to be an uphill climb for Erskine as SWU responded with a four-run second to go back in front. Trailing 6-2, the Fleet used the long ball to climb back into the game in the third inning. First, Kyndall Chandler and Gabby Burroughs hit back-to-back big flies, and then Brooke Patterson capped the frame with a home run of her own as Erskine drew within a run, 6-5. The Warriors continued to keep the Fleet at arms' length though, scoring singular runs in the third and fourth innings before a five-run fifth ended the game via the run rule.

Game 2: Southern Wesleyan 13-5 Erskine (Final / 6 innings)
The back half of the doubleheader belonged to the hosts, as they took an 8-0 lead after three innings. Erskine got its offensive production on home runs from Brooke Patterson and McKinna Taylor, but the SWU offense continued to tack on runs as the Fleet fell in Game 2.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine returns home this weekend to face North Greenville University (21-11, 5-3 CC) for a doubleheader on Friday at 2 p.m.
