CENTRAL, S.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (2-9-1, 1-9-1 CC) was defeated by Southern Wesleyan University (6-6-4, 4-4-3 CC) by a score of 2-1 at Childs Field on Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder
Rebekah Wiles scored for the second straight match, getting the Fleet on the board and within a goal in the 36th minute. Erskine had opportunities to overcome its early deficit but were unable to find an equalizer.

THE TEAM
Erskine was edged in shots by Southern Wesleyan, 17 to 14, and the Warriors had a narrow 10 to 8 advantage in shots on target. The Fleet forced seven saves from the SWU goalkeeper, while redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Valentina Santana totaled eight saves for Erskine.
