FLORENCE, S.C. – The Erskine College men's soccer team (0-3, 0-1 CC) dropped its 2023 Conference Carolinas opener against Francis Marion University (1-0-1, 1-0-0 CC) by a score of 11-1 at Hartzler Field on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Francis Marion opened the scoring in the 4th minute and led 3-0 at the halftime break. The Patriots scored seven more goals in the second half before
Isaac Santiago-Melendez got the Fleet on the board. After the initial chance by
Jeff Gulish was saved, Santiago-Melendez was right there on the rebound to redirect it back on target and find the back of the net. FMU added its final goal in the 84th minute.
THE TEAM
Erskine goalkeepers made a combined 12 saves and the Fleet totaled 5 shots, including 3 on target in the match.
