HOW IT HAPPENED
Erskine had to turn around and begin Day 2 of the Conference Carolinas Tournament just 14 hours after their opening day came to a conclusion on Friday night and starting pitcher
Payton Cox was able to hold the Lions off the scoreboard through the first two frames. But, the Erskine offense could not break through in their first two at-bats and Emmanuel took control with three runs in the bottom of the third to open the scoring before adding another in the fourth and three more in the fifth to take a commanding lead. Erskine could not get on the board in the top of the sixth and the No. 4 seeded Lions reached the run rule with another run in the bottom half to end an 8-0 loss for the Fleet.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine's 2023 season came to an end on Saturday as the Fleet will now turn their attention to the offseason and preparations for the 2024 campaign.
