FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Erskine College softball team (19-14, 9-7 CC) was swept in a doubleheader against Emmanuel College (27-15, 14-4 CC) at the EC Softball Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Emmanuel 2-1 Erskine
Peyton Rabon singled home
Amber Clark in the top of the first inning to give the Fleet an early 1-0 lead, but this game quickly turned into a pitchers' duel. Erskine starter
Payton Cox surrendered some baserunners but continued to get timely outs to strands Lions' runners in scoring position and hold onto a one-run lead for the Fleet. But, Emmanuel tied the game in the fifth and won it in the seventh with an RBI single as the Fleet fell short in Game 1.
Game 2: Emmanuel 11-3 Erskine (Final / 5 innings)
After a heartbreaking loss in the opener, Erskine responded well as they scored in the first inning for the second time today; this time thanks to a
Brooke Patterson home run that gave the Fleet an early 2-0 lead. But, the conference leaders, Emmanuel, scored the next six runs of the game and never looked back.
Kyndall Chandler's RBI single in the third inning made it a 6-3 game, but Erskine was unable to keep with up the Lions offense in Game 2.

Kyndall Chandler had a multi-hit performance in Game 2, including an RBI single in the third inning.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine returns home for its home finale in 2023 on Tuesday, when the Fleet welcome Belmont Abbey College (13-22, 8-10 CC) to town for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
