HOW IT HAPPENED
Limestone took advantage of an Erskine error and scored five times in the first inning, as the Fleet dug themselves an early hole. But, Erskine began to climb back, starting with a Rolando Lujo sacrifice fly in the second inning. Then, it was the Fleet's turn to cash in on extra opportunities as they flipped the game on its head in the fourth. Tyler Smith started the scoring in the frame with an RBI single, before a Saints error with two outs allowed two runs to score. Christian Rivera followed with an RBI double, and then Dale Francis, Jr. ripped a single back up the middle that scored a pair and gave Erskine its first lead of the afternoon, 7-6. The Fleet scored two more runs in the sixth, and thanks to a solid outing from Parker Cassell, led 9-6 going into the seventh. Limestone scored twice in the seventh and got back within a run, but Johnny Hummel limited the damage and worked a scoreless eighth as well. In the bottom half of the eighth inning, Francis, Jr. roped an RBI double before scoring on a sacrifice fly from Daniel Hernandez, giving the Fleet some insurance and an 11-8 lead heading to the ninth. Dustin Scoggins came on to the pitch the ninth, and induced a double play that erased a leadoff single, as he earned his first career save and gave Erskine a mid-week home victory.

THE PLAYER
Dale Francis, Jr. went 4-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and three driven in, as he spearheaded an 11-run outburst for the Fleet offense. Francis, Jr. recorded his third four-hit game of the season on Tuesday in just his 17th start of the year.
