DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (2-6, 1-2 CC) was defeated by Barton College (1-8, 1-1 CC) by a score of 85-72 at Belk Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Erskine started the game on a 13-5 run, but Barton answered and took a four-point lead after a quarter. The game was evenly contested through most of the second and third quarters until the visitors went on a 21-2 extended run from the end of the third quarter into the start of the fourth to open up a 22-point lead, as the Bulldogs pulled away down the stretch.

Senior
Tyra Sullivan did not start the game but was extremely impactful in her limited minutes. The forwarded totaled 7 points on a perfect 2-for-2 shooting from the field, while adding five rebounds and four blocks, all career-highs for the Ninety Six native. The four blocks are the most by an Erskine player since Jordan Whitesides tallied five blocks back in February 2016.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot a season-best 49% (27-55) from the field but just 23% (5-22) from three-point range. The Fleet were 59% (13-22) from the free throw line, but were undone by 23 turnovers, which Barton turned into 29 points.

Erskine has two weeks off until its next game, a non-conference road contest against Augusta University (4-4) on Saturday, December 30 at 1:30 p.m.
