DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (1-1) was defeated by Newberry College (2-2) by a score of 73-54 on Tuesday night at Belk Arena.
Erskine trailed by nine at the half, but started the third quarter on a 12-4 run to get within a point, but the Fleet were unable to get any closer as they suffered their first loss of the year.

THE TEAM
Erskine shot 30% (18-61) from the field and 27% (3-11) from three-point range, but were just 48% (15-31) from the free throw line. The Fleet, though, turned the ball over 24 times and were minus-15 in points off turnovers, 25 to 10.
