GREENVILLE, S.C. – Ángel Galán was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, for the week from September 28 - October 2.

A sophomore from Salamanca, Spain, Galán posted a historic 8K time of 25:25.4 at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Preview in Oakwood, Georgia. 

Galán finished fourth individually at the event with the time that was the fastest for Erskine men's cross country in an 8K since 2009. His efforts also helped Erskine to a fourth-place finish as a team at the North Georgia Cross Country Course.

Galán and the Fleet compete in their final regular season race of the year at the Royals Challenge on October 16.
